Don't wait for it to fix itself

The longer you leave it,
the harder it is to shift

Get access to expert hands-on therapists, tailored treatment and structured rehab, right here at 194 Ashmore Rd, Benowa.

  • You start compensatingPain changes how you move, which loads other areas that weren't a problem to begin with.
  • It gets harder to shiftPain that hangs around for months is usually harder to settle than pain treated early.
  • It's more likely to come backSettling the pain without fixing the cause is one of the most common reasons problems recur.

What we treat every week

From desk workers and tradies to athletes and retirees, these are the problems we help locals with.

  • Back and neck pain
  • Sports injuries
  • Knee, hip and ankle pain
  • Shoulder and elbow pain
  • Headaches and jaw pain
  • Tendon pain
  • Running injuries
  • Work and gym injuries
  • Arthritis and joint stiffness
  • Rehab after surgery

Why we're different

Not your average physio

Most treatment stops when the pain does. Ours keeps going until the numbers say you're ready.

Your plan

How we get you moving again

Every step has a purpose, and you'll always know where you're at.

1

Assess

We find what's actually going on: a hands-on assessment, plus movement and strength testing where it helps.

2

Treat

Hands-on treatment to settle pain and get you moving, with a clear explanation of what's going on.

3

Rebuild

A plan built around your work, life and goals, progressed every visit.

4

Keep it away

We retest along the way and give you a plan to stop it coming back.

The technology

Measured, not guessed

We use the same kind of testing professional teams use, so your progress shows up in numbers.

VALD force plates

Strength testing on the same system used by professional sporting teams. It shows exactly how one side compares to the other.

Kinetisense

3D movement screening that picks up how you're compensating, so treatment targets the cause.

OCHY running analysis

Video gait analysis for runners, showing what's holding your stride back.

Built by a physio
who's been there

Focus on Physio is owned by physio Jordan Press, who played 22 years of rugby league, including four knee surgeries and a shoulder stabilisation after repeated dislocations.

He came back to play A-grade, so he knows what a long recovery feels like, and how much difference a clear, tested plan makes. That's the approach behind every plan at the clinic.

Questions

Before you book

The things people ask us most.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can book directly. If you've seen a GP or specialist, bring any letters, scans or reports along.

Can I claim on my health fund?

Yes. If your extras cover includes physio, you can claim on the spot with HICAPS and only pay the gap.

Do you take Medicare, WorkCover, CTP, DVA or NDIS?

Yes. We see Medicare care plan (EPC) patients, WorkCover and CTP claims, DVA card holders and NDIS participants. Let us know when you book and bring your referral or claim number.

Can I see a female or male physio?

Yes. Just let us know which you prefer when you book.

How long is the first appointment?

Initial appointments are 60 minutes, so there's time for a thorough assessment and a clear plan.

What should I wear and bring?

Wear something comfortable you can move in, such as shorts and a t-shirt. Bring your health fund card and any scans or reports.

Do you have a hydrotherapy pool?

Yes. Our on-site pool is used for hydrotherapy rehab sessions, and is great when land exercise is too painful.

When are you open?

Monday to Thursday 7am to 7pm, Friday 7am to 5pm and Saturday 7am to 12pm.
